Stylish and Intimate Celebration in Martha's Vineyard

Ceremony on an open field followed by dinner under the stars on Martha’s Vineyard

Gwendolyn & James

Gwen and James reached out to me after they decided to push back their wedding in Lake Como for a year due to…you have one guess…Covid! They wanted something smaller, intimate and closer to home. This was an opportunity to create something intentional and meaningful in a place close to their heart, Martha’s Vineyard. When James brought Gwen to Martha’s Vineyard for the first time, he took her to Sepiessa Point, a stunning hike through forests, open fields that leads to a tiny beach. This happens to be one of my favorite hikes on Martha’s Vineyard so, hello, match made in heaven:).

The plan looked like this: have the ceremony in an open field, officiated it by a good friend of the couple, have a champagne toast there and some pictures with friends and family, then retreat to the groom’s family home for dinner under the stars (you read that right). The whole evening felt like magic.

The next morning we met in Aquinnah Beach to take more portraits of them. It was about 11 am and the sun was extremely bright, but we had the beach just for us and it was perfect. I strongly recommend a session after the wedding if you don’t want to miss any moment on your wedding day, or be limited by time and stress. And it’s 10 times more fun:)
